Watch the Democratic Presidential Candidates at the Iowa Black and Brown Forum

Come here at 8 p.m. Eastern to watch the live event.

Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders will appear at a special Iowa forum tonight to answer questions about issues that affect people of color and young people.

The Iowa Black and Brown Forum starts at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on Fusion’s cable network. It’s likely that social justice, immigration, education, health care, and the economy will be hot topics. Social justice and police violence have become major issues during the campaign as the influential Black Lives Matter movement has organized demonstrations around the nation to protest the deaths of people who have died in police custody or who were shot by officers.

The forum will be moderated by Fusion anchors Jorge Ramos and Alicia Menendez as well as Fusion contributor Akilah Hughes and New York magazine writer-at-large Rembert Browne. The event will be held at Drake University in Des Moines.

Fusion scrapped a similar forum for Republican candidates because of “unresolved scheduling conflicts.”

A BETTER WAY TO DO THIS?

We have an ambitious $350,000 online fundraising goal this month and we can't afford to come up short. But when a reader recently asked how being a nonprofit makes Mother Jones different from other news organizations, we realized we needed to lay this out better: Because "in absolutely every way" is essentially the answer.

So we tried to explain why your year-end donations are so essential, and we'd like your help refining our pitch about what make Mother Jones valuable and worth reading to you.

We'd also like your support of our journalism with a year-end donation if you can right now—all online gifts will be doubled until we hit our $350,000 goal thanks to an incredibly generous donor's matching gift pledge.
